Works by four 20th century London-based composers, Gordon Jacob, Stephen Dodgson, Elizabeth Maconchy and Michael Head, are contrasted with three sonatas by J S Bach, with Sonatas BWV 1028 and 1027 played here on oboe d`amore and cor anglais respectively. Performers are Althea Ifeka (now Althea Talbot-Howard) oboe, oboe d`amore & cor anglais, and Katharine May harpsichord. A 24-page booklet contains fulsome programme notes in English and German.
