A highly experienced and dedicated teacher, Katharine May has enjoyed teaching all ages and abilities for many years. Since 2005 she has written Teaching Notes on the new ABRSM piano syllabus (Grades 1-6) for Music Teacher magazine, and her pupils have a 100% pass rate with ABRSM exams. Over the years she has taught widely in schools including Wycombe Abbey and the Royal College of Music Junior Department, and has a thriving private practice. A graduate of the Royal College of Music where she also took her ARCM Teaching Diploma, Katharine studied the harpsichord and piano with Ruth Dyson and Ruth Gerald respectively, and was awarded the Raymond Ffennell Prize for best degree of the year on graduation. She has since inspired and encouraged generations of students to achieve their goals and realize their potential.
